The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, implementation and supervision of the nursing care of the Residential programs. This is a working nurse position; the Nurse Supervisor manages the daily operations of the medical part of the programs. The Nurse Supervisor position requires schedule flexibility (some holidays and weekends given staffing patterns). It is also responsible for ensuring the proper integration of nursing and medical functions as provided between doctors, APRNs and clinicians. The position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all nursing and medical regulations and accreditation standards.
Major Responsibilities:
1) In collaboration with the Medical Director and Program Directors the Nurse Supervisor will develop and implement best clinical practices in the delivery of Nursing services to MCCA clients, in accordance with the requirements of the 1115 Waiver, CARF standards and any other regulatory agency provisions.
2) Maintain the communication with the nursing staff including regularly scheduled supervision. Review and monitor the nursing documentation for compliance and quality of care. Assure availability, accessibility and accountability of nursing staff by scheduling nursing coverage.
3) Work cooperatively with treatment team, communicating information needed to maximize good customer service to clients, referral sources and third-party payers to reduce and manage the AMA rate. Provide training to clinical and non-clinical staff which may include administration of appropriate tests to ensure a clear understanding of material presented.
4) Supervise dispensing of medication, count, security. Manage daily nursing work flow of the program. Communicate daily with the Medical Director and Program Directors regarding operation of the facility. Coordinate intakes and assist in nursing/clinical assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in Behavioral Health Nursing.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Computer literacy and familiarity with data driven management
- ASN, BS/BSN, MS/MSN
- Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health is required.
