Patient Care RN: 4A, Stepdown - ACUITY ADAPTABLE
Med/Surg 4A is a 28 bed, acuity adaptable unit - Driven to provide exceptional care to our patients, the 4A team treats both step-down (IMC) and medical-surgical patients on the same unit. This improves continuity of care as well as efficiency of staff time. 4A also has amenities to improve the patient experience such as all private patient rooms, a patient & family kitchen, laundry facilities, and a bright open gathering area.4A is seeking an ambitious & compassionate Registered Nurse to enhance quality care and positive outcomes for our patient population.
We care for adult patients aged 18 to 100+ who are being treated for complex acute care needs.

Our individualized orientation is designed to meet your unique needs and enhance your individual strengths.
Typically lasting around 10 weeks, clinical orientation transitions you from the learner nurse to the primary nurse with weekly goals and objectives to set the pace.
Unit leaders and preceptors are there every step of the way to ensure your success.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
2. Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
3. Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
4. Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
5. Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
6. Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
7. Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
8. Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate
9. Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
10. Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
11. Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
12. Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
13. Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
14. Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans.
15. Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles.
16. Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
17. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
· Associate Degree /Graduate of an accredited nursing program/university
· Must commit to a BSN within timeframe as indicated within BSN agreement
· Computer literacy with experience in electronic documentation
· Current Licensure in DE or compact state.
· BLS required
· *ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe
· *Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
· BSN
· Experience in relevant specialty
· Experience with EPIC HER documentation
· Nursing certification in relevant specialty
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES:
· Ability to effectively communicate
· Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
· Demonstrated good work ethics
· Flexibility to adhere to required shifts
