Job Title: Registered Nurse - Stepdown

Location: Chambersburg, PA

Rate: $2160 Weekly

Shift: 36hrs - 3x12hrs - Nights

Job Description:

The Stepdown unit provides specialized care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care but still require close monitoring and nursing intervention. As a Stepdown Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation levels.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies according to physician orders, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Perform nursing procedures, such as inserting and maintaining intravenous lines, administering oxygen therapy, and assisting with the placement of specialized monitoring devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment accurately and thoroughly in medical records.
• Prioritize patient safety by assessing for risks of falls, pressure ulcers, and infections, and implementing appropriate preventive measures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a stepdown or critical care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
