We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Plastic Surgery nurse. The responsibilities of the Plastic Surgery nurse include caring for patients undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, assisting patients in achieving their desired results, and providing perioperative and post-operative care.
- Collaborates with team members to manage office workflow, and ensure excellent patient care. This includes escorting patients to exam rooms, addressing questions and concerns.
- Review patient health history, and providing consultative education.
- Patient screening tasks, review medical history and psychosocial status before surgery.
- Performs cosmetic non-surgical treatments, as trained and certified (e.g., injectable treatments, Botox, Fillers, skin laser resurfacing, CoolSculpting, etc.).
- Prepares the operating room before procedures and assisting with invasive treatments.
- Monitors the patients before and after their surgeries.
- Collaborates with surgeons and surgical assistants to ensure that patient understand the surgical procedures and policies.
- Completes all necessary authorizations and consents.
- Ensures patients fully understand potential treatment options, risks and side effects, and aftercare.
- Documents patient's progress by taking pre-and post-procedure photographs or 3D images, and upload documentation into clinical system.
- Performs suture and drain removal for post-operative patients.
- Handles patient's calls, document patient's concerns and questions facilitates appointments, and ensures questions/concerns are addressed in a timely manner. This will be during office hours or on call.
- Manages surgical implants, garments, injectables, and office supplies. Works with the team to ensure that all treatment rooms are stocked appropriately.
Plastic Surgery Nurse Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Registered nursing (RN) license.
- Minimum of two years' experience as an RN in Plastic Surgery.
- Certification in Plastic Surgery nursing may be advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy for patients.
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly.
