JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The RN assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for his/her own professional advancement. Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Responsible for knowledge of the patient population served. Communicate effectively and collaborate with nurses and other patient care providers. The RN is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team member integrating safety, quality and the experience of care while individualizing the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs when providing care. The RN is required to actively participate in performance improvement activities. Other essential duties as required.
EDUCATION:
- BSN required within three years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school preferred.
- 1 - 2 years RN experience in OR required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Additional experience required based upon specific department needs.
- Current NJ RN Licensure required.
- Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS required.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS/PALS required.
- National certification preferred.
- Successful completion of all Orientation requirements of Rahway Hospital.
Please note this positions will require to be on call for 24 hours -7am Saturday to 7am Monday
Will also be scheduled to work one, 12 hour shift during the week.
Note: the 12 hour shift during the week can be split.
