Through the years, Trinitas Regional Medical Center has demonstrated its commitment to women and children with a spacious 20-bed ''Mother/Baby'' postpartum unit, modern Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, and a Level II Intermediate Care Nursery. Nurses in the Mother Baby Unit care for mothers and infants with a focus on preparing mothers to care of the newborn, with an emphasis on education and providing evidenced-based care. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and commitment to teamwork and collaboration with all members of the health care team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- A minimum of 1 year RN experience
- Ability to perform all competencies of the position is required for employment in the position
Preferred:
- Bachelor s degree preferred
- Previous OB experience preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- NRP certification to be obtained by the completion of the orientation period
Scheduling Requirements:
- Part-time
- Day shift
- 24 hours weekly
Essential Functions:
Labor and Delivery Nurses help bring new life into the world every day. They care for women during labor and childbirth by monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers and assisting doctors. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born. Additionally, your responsibilities will include monitoring the baby s heart rate and mother s blood pressure; timing of contractions; helping to administer medications and epidurals; identifying and assisting with complications; aiding in inducing labor and preparing new mothers for before, during and after pregnancy.
