Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Adult Critical CareFloat Poolat the St. John's Hospital located in Maplewood, MN. 

 

The Critical CareFloat Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with sophisticated medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This unique department is a specialty group comprised of highly skilled experts that support patient care throughout the hospital. Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the Night shift with an every other weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

About Critical CareFloat Pool at St. John's Hospital:

  • As a Critical CareFloat Pool RN, you will primarily float to the ICU or ED.
  • In a less frequent capacity, you may float to IMC, Telemetry, General Med/Surg, and Orthopedic units.
  • Adaptability, willingness to learn, and critical thinking skills are all important to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities

The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

  • Provides care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly.
  • Establish and implement nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and maintain oversight for duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations.
  • Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Collaborate with patient, family, and health care team members.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associates Degree in Nursing 
  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing 
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
  • 6 months of Cardiac Telemetry experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
