QUALIFICATIONS: Is a Registered in the State of Indiana. Demonstrated skills working with children in a nursing role. Experience in residential treatment and/or psychiatric nursing with mentally handicapped or emotionally disturbed, strongly preferred. ARC CPR/First aid instruction certification highly desired. Ongoing participation in Agency- approved in-service training experiences. Must be at least 21 years of age.
SUPERVISION: Is responsible to and evaluated by the Health Services Director. Works with Infirmary Staff in monitoring health care of the residents, packaging home medications and passing medications, giving treatments, attending weekly staffing on residents within caseload and attending to immediate medical needs of all residents and staff.
POSITION PHILOSOPHY: Supervisory team member with nursing expertise. Extension of the Health Services Director. Assistant to the Health Services Director in ensuring quality health care for residents and completing assigned health services tasks and training.

Supervisory Team Expectations:
1. Functions within legal, licensing, Agency, and professional standards and guidelines in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment for the residents.
2. Serves as designated Health Services Department charge person in the Health Services Director’s absence as requested by the Health Service Director.
3. Learns and implements Employee Handbook, policies, and procedures, and assists in reinforcing these when supervising Direct Services Staff.
4. Observes rules of confidentiality, both on the job and in the community.
5. Protects residents’ rights and reports violations. Treats residents with dignity and respect.
6. Reports and participates in investigating any suspected resident abuse, whether physical, sexual, or mental/psychological, per the Director.
