Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help children understand and manage their mental health diagnosis. We are seeking a caring individual to be a part of our special medical department dedicated to helping these children achieve their goals.
Duties for the Psychiatric Coordinator include :
- Overseeing the day to day functions related to the psychiatric needs of the children in care
- Manage the psychiatrist session schedule
- Prep the psychiatrist on children being seen and admitted into the program.
- Completing the necessary documentation and forms for all admissions
- Ensure that all psychiatrist orders are properly documented and signed
- Communicate psychiatric protocols and med changes to the treatment team
- Transmit medication orders to the pharmacy
- Educate the child and parent/guardian on purposes of medication and its potential side effects
- Attend to basic illnesses and injuries to children as necessary
Requirements:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- 2 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, symptoms, medication and treatment methods
- Ability to identify emergency medical situations related to mental health concerns
- Strong documentation, communication, and social skills
- Dedication to working with and helping youth
