Looking for a unique and out of the ordinary nursing position? Join us at Embark Behavioral Health Bend! We serve clients of all genders ages 10-14 who are experiencing and struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, school refusal and other mental health challenges. Our clients reside in our comfortable family-style residence, where community and interpersonal relationships are fostered and encouraged.

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As the program nurse you will be responsible to care for and attend to the general medical needs of our clients as well as medical emergencies. Working as a nurse for our residential facility offers a unique opportunity outside of a hospital or medical office to interact with clients and build relationships beyond just the client's medical needs. Nurses have the opportunity to eat meals with clients, participate in extracurricular activities and enjoy working outside of a medical facility. The program nurse will support the overall wellbeing of our clients and staff through education, training and more.

$2000 Signing Bonus (50% at 90 days, 50% at 6 months employment)

Predictable weekly schedule; 5 days/week; 8-hour shifts

Salary: $83-93k ($40-45/hr)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to reports of pain or sickness as they arise and assess student's needs. Provide updates/direction to client's parents and residential staff in response.

Monitor clients in regard to mood, behavior and affect, and then chart the findings. (Particularly when medication changes are occurring)

Complete new client medical, health and drug screenings

Oversee medication administration procedure and policy. Train residential staff on policy and documentation needs and ensure MAR documentation is completed and accurate.

Check the vital signs and weight of students and ensure documentation is updated.

Count and track narcotics every shift.

Correlate lab draws for the students.

Administer, read, and record employee Tuberculosis tests.

Attend weekly treatment team meetings and communicate pertinent medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist either verbally or in written form.

Ensure compliance with accrediting bodies (state of Oregon DHS, OHA, JCAHO)

Supervision of part-time nurse.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Licensed as an RN in the state of Oregon

Experience in mental/behavioral health setting and with adolescents

Experience or knowledge of health insurance submission processes

Ability to be flexible, a team player and detail oriented

Excellent communication and computer skills

Skill in communicating medical situations accurately to clients, parents, and non-medical co-workers

Thorough knowledge of common psychotropic medications, side effects, etc

Knowledge of standard medical terminology and out patient techniques

Knowledge of legal charting procedure and requirements.

Skill in using nursing tools and equipment (e.g., needles, thermometers, diagnostic tests, stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, etc.)

Skill in assessing the physical condition of the clients.
