JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-
Registered Nurse - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit
RN - PACU
Full-Time
Registered Nurse candidates for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) will have the following job responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process in the peri-operative setting.
- Monitor the patient's medical condition and report any significant changes to the physician or anesthesiologist/CRNA.
- Explain nursing procedures and actions taken to patient.
- Assess, collaborate and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team.
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring.
- Titrate pressors, sedation, heparin, insulin drips based on protocol.
- Instruct patients in self-care techniques following the procedure.
- The position can be 3-12s or 4-10s.
- The position requires call: A candidate that lives 30-45 minutes away for on call situations or has a plan in place to be present within the 30-45 window when called in.
- There are differentials for being on call, Additional diff for working while on call, there is also a minimum pay amount when the RN is used less than 2 hours.
- On Call Nights and 2 weekend days/month for a total of 5-6 call shifts per month in addition to regular shifts. On call Diff is 2.00 hourly.
- Differential for shift work when on call is 25.00 hourly. Minimum of 2 hours paid. Highlights about this position: Call in is the bread and butter, the money-making opportunity. Scheduled shifts are Mon-Fri.

Experience Requirements:
- 1yr exp in Critical Care (eg. ICU, CVICU, MICU) or PACU Required
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring exp Required
- Titrate pressors, sedation, heparin, insulin drips based on protocol exp Required
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required
- BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued card required
- ACLS-American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required
- PALS-American Heart Association PALS Provider issued card required
- ASPAN preferred
