Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

Department Description
These patients receive care for a variety of life-threatening medical and surgical conditions. Nurses on this unit learn the skills necessary to maintain vital functions for these fragile children, while supporting their families through difficult times.
The PICU Registered Nurse will coordinate patient care in collaboration with physicians, PICU CNS, Respiratory Therapists, Child Life, Social Work, Nutrition and Discharge Case Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Two years recent inpatient Pediatric Critical Care nursing experience or two years of recent Adult Medical/Surgical/Neuro ICU nursing experience or two years of recent Pediatric ED nursing experience.
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Active American Heart Association PALS Certification (within 6 months if transferring from an Adult Critical Care area)
- The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years recent inpatient clinical RN experience in a medical surgical PICU
License/Certification
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Active American Heart Association PALS Certification (within 6 months if transferring from an Adult Critical Care area)
