Job Description
We are seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse to join our team on Mondays & Wednesdays. We are a busy Ambulatory Surgery Center in Sandy Springs, GA. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.
Responsibilities:
- Work in the following areas in the surgery center: Pre-op, Intra-op and PACU
- Reviews pre-op orders and instructions, explores areas of patient concern, answers question within the nursing scope, and establishes patient rapport
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
- Maintains patient safety
- Maintains sterile technique
- Starts IV therapy and administers pre-operation medication, if applicable.
- Administer conscious sedation if applicable
- Assist in procedure room during procedures
- Training to include operation on the C-Arm, sterilization of instruments
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
- Checks blood pressure, pulse, respiration, color and condition of skin every 10 minutes until stable
- Educate patients about procedures and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Checks the availability of supplies and equipment needed for patients assigned (stock medications, CSR supplies)
- Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Georgia Registered Nurse License
- 2+ years of nursing experience preferred
- BLS required; ACLS preferred (will obtain within 6 months of employment)
- Familiarity with medical software and equipment
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Working Hours:
- Monday and Wednesday 7:00am - 4:30pm (hours may vary)
