Position Overview: As an Operating Room Nurse at Advanced Surgery Center of Metairie, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and success of surgical procedures across multiple specialties. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide top-notch patient care in our ambulatory surgery center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up the Operating Room with the necessary equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping to ensure a sterile environment.
- Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia, and surgical progress throughout the procedure.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe procedures.
- Assist with post-operative patient care and transfer to the recovery area when necessary.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the state of LA.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience as an Operating Room Nurse is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
