- Base Pay: $2,087.00 per week
- Housing Allowance: $869.00 per week
- Meal Allowance: $700.00 per week
- Travel Allowance: $518.00 per week
Job Details:
Client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. As a CVOR Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries. This position requires expertise in cardiovascular nursing, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to plan and execute cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Assess patient conditions before, during, and after surgeries, monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to changes in patient status.
- Assist with surgical preparations, including setting up equipment, sterile supplies, and instrumentation needed for procedures.
- Provide direct patient care during surgeries, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal surgical outcomes.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and anesthesia as directed by the surgical team.
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, patient assessments, and interventions in electronic health records.
- Participate in post-operative care, including wound care, monitoring for complications, and educating patients and their families about post-surgical recovery.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to enhance nursing practice and patient care.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in a cardiovascular Operating Room or critical care setting.
- Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing (CVRN) or Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
