CLINICAL INTERVIEW
General Information:
Beds: 34
Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Yes, with one year of telemetry experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes with at least 2 year of experience (1 year of telemetry experience)
Patient Types:
Higher level of telemetry patients
PCI pre/post care, CHF, MI, DMII, GI, GU, ONC, Sepsis, Stroke, Neutropenia, COVID(higher level of oxygenation), PNA, AMS, TIA, AKI, Dehydrations, ETOH, Syncope, CKD, Afib with RVR, Dialysis, NSTEMI, Leukemia, Pulmonary Edema, Anemia, Shock, Chest pain, Hypoxia
High volume of post-cath lab procedures - TR bands, stent placements (must be familiar with the procedure), fresh cath patients (no sheaths) requiring q15 min checks
Do not take DKA - those patients go to ICU
High Spanish-speaking population (30-50%)
High volume of the underserved population - charity care - looking for compassionate caregivers
Patient Ratios:
Days: 1:4
Nights: 1:5
Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required, ONS (Preferred)
Oncology experience is not required. Will be given Tele patients if no oncology experience.
Skills required:
Trach care, chest tube, TR band, Post Cath lab, Central line maintenance care, Bipap experience required, Hi-flow experience required, Reading/Interpreting/measuring Cardiac Rhythm strips required. Titratable drip experience required (diltiazem and heparin, nurse protocol based on lab values).
Support on the Unit:
CNA: (Team Nursing)

Nights 1:8
Receptionist/HUC
Charge nurse/Staff coordinator - Typically does not take patient assignments, will help with
Occasionally will have 1-2 patients if staffing needs
Phlebotomy - days/nights
IV/VAT Team until 2300
Hospitalist - 24/7
Telemetry monitoring tech? Yes, on the unit. 2 central units. 32 patients per central unit. Sign off strips q 4 hours.
