Position Summary: The Oncology Infusion Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s status, plan of care, and goal achievement. Care is provided in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion based on the Caring Model, exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Rush Copley, and is in accordance with policies and procedures. The Oncology Infusion Nurse is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as top priority. The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and must have a complete understanding of own limitations and, in turn, seek advice, judgement, and support of others, when necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License: Current state of Illinois Registered Nurse license required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. For hires or transfers on / after 8/1/2013, must obtain BSN within five years of hire / transfer date.
Certifications: BLS required. Oncology Nursing Certification preferred; required within two years of hire.
Special Skills: Completion of Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Course within 90 days of hire / transfer. Maintains provider status every two years.
Experience: Three years nursing experience required; preferably in medical surgical or oncology setting. Outpatient oncology experience preferred.
