Registered Nurse (Iv Therapy)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The staff nurse is an individual who provides IV treatment and/or vitamin injections to patients in a variety of non-hospital settings. These settings may include homes, offices, hotels, gyms, spas, and other health/wellness related settings. The staff nurse is responsible to, and under the direction of, the Director of Nursing or Medical Director.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR
This job is a 1099 Independent Contractor position, which means that you will not be an employee of DripDoc; instead you will be working as an independent contractor.

As an independent contractor, you must:
1. Obtain your own medical supplies
2. Obtain professional liability insurance
3. Possess a valid Driver's license
4. Possess an active automobile insurance policy
5. Possess an active nursing license

COMPENSATION
All nurses receive an hourly rate and commission from DripDoc. The hourly rate differs between RNs and LPNs.
Nurses may receive tips directly from customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in Florida.
• Experience in ER and/or ICU preferred.
• Evidence of satisfactory Level 2 Background screening.
• Must have physical abilities to adequately perform described duties.
• Able to learn and apply professional training, follow orders and produce accurate records of activities and services provided.
• Able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests which relate to the coordination of Agency activities.
• Able to speak in a clear, concise voice in order to communicate direction for Agency activities and staff.
• Able to organize work procedures, assume responsibility and effectively supervise others, if applicable.
• Able to travel locally to provide services to patients at appointed times.
• Demonstrates ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Demonstrates problem solving abilities and effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates adequate knowledge regarding exposure to body fluids, chemicals, and some hazardous equipment.
• Demonstrates exceptional assessment skills.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Performs and submits the initial nursing assessment to the registry for inclusion in the patient file.
• Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of clinical records for his/her patients. The clinical records shall be filed with the nurse registry, for each patient to whom they are providing services in the home or other place of residence or when they assess the care being provided by non-licensed independent contractors, pursuant to s. 400.506(10)(c), F.S. Clinical notes and clinical records related to care given under a staffing arrangement are maintained by the facility who arranges the facility staffing contract.
• Responsible for maintaining the medical plan of treatment with clinical notes and filing the initial medical plan of treatment, any amendments to the plan, any additional order or change in orders, and a copy of the clinical notes in the office of the nurse registry.
• Assumes responsibility for each patient receiving nursing or personal care.
• Develops and implements the nursing care plan for the patient.
• Provides nursing services, treatments and diagnostic procedures requiring specialized skills.
• Observes symptoms, reaction to treatments, drugs, and changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition.
• Initiates preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as appropriate for the patient’s care and safety.
• Coordinates services with the supervising physician or nurse by reporting status changes observed in the patent.
• Assures that progress reports are made to the physician or nurse for patients under medical care describing patient activities and or changes in condition.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and agency matters.
• Submits required documentation in a timely manner.
• Adheres to all applicable HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Follows proper procedures when disposing of medical wastes.
