Job Description
- Monitor and record symptoms and changes in patient conditions and inform the physician.
- Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
- Monitor critical patients for changes in status and indications of conditions and conduct appropriate interventions.
- Treat wounds and provide advanced life support.
- Assist physicians with procedures such as intubation and endoscopy.
- Respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
- Administration of medications and treatments and monitoring for patient response including side effects and reactions.
- Prioritize care for critically ill patients based on identified needs and assessment data.
- Consistent, accurate and timely documentation of patient medical history, current health, and nursing processes.
- Completion of required training as assigned.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or potential hazards in accordance with established policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification is required.
- CCRN certification preferred.
- Graduation of a state approved nursing program and completion of a state approved competency examination; BSN or MSN preferred.
- Unencumbered Register Nurse license valid for the worksite state.
- Must complete the onboarding and hiring process including background investigation(s) and drug screening; Backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions.
- Health Records – Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, COVID-19 and influenza for the current season. A pre-assignment physical examination may be required.
- Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language required
- Must have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to assess situations to make independent, policy compliant decisions.
- Must be able to see, hear and communicate.
- Must be able to use proper body positioning and body mechanics including to -
- Regularly stand, sit, walk, run, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, twist.
- Dexterity and fine motor function including strength, control, lifting, reaching and tool usage.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds infrequently, and lift or assist in lifting more than 50 pounds at times.
