RN needed for a General Surgery office. This is a fulltime, 40 hour a week position. Monday-Friday day shift. No nights, no weekends, no holidays.
Provides professional nursing care for outpatient clinic patients in the Department of Surgery, following established standards and practices. Duties include, but are not limited to patient assessment, procedure assistance, patient teaching, and telephone triage.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required and
- B.S.N. preferred and
- Consideration will be given to an appropriate combination of education/training and experience required
Experience
- 1-2 years 2 years of professional nursing experince required and
- 1-2 years Previous outpatient experience highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia / Maryland / Virginia required and
- CPR certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
