- Required Experience:
- RN: 2 years - Level 1 or 2 trauma experience
- Endo Tech: 1 year
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? No - email for approval
- Travelers must live > 100 miles away from facility
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
- Patient Types:
- Upper & Lower Endoscopy (to include advanced - EUS (Endoscopic US), EBUS (Endobronchial US), ERCP
- EGD and Colon
- Pre and Post Recovery (Phase I and Phase II) with some ICU level care needed.
- Patient Ratios:
- ENDO 1:1
- Pre-Op 1:2
- PACU Phase I - 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity
- PACU Phase II - 1:2-3
- Required Certifications:
- RN: BLS, ACLS
- Endo Tech: BLS
- Required Education:
- RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Endo Tech: graduation from accredited school is acceptable
- Skills required:
- RN:
- Endoscopy (to include advanced - EUS (Endoscopic US), EBUS (Endobronchial US), ERCP
- Anesthesia provides sedation
- Endo Tech: Comfortability to perform advanced Endoscopy procedures to include - EUS (Endoscopic US), EBUS (Endobronchial US), ERCP, stenting and other advanced interventional GI procedures
- Endo Techs will process scopes for the department - staff are rotated through the week so they aren't always doing the same job.
- Support on the Unit:
- Endoscopy
- RN/Endo Tech x6
- Anesthesia (provided sedation-100%)
- Charting System/Equipment:
- EPIC
- ION robot - robotic assisted Brochoscopy
- Omnicell
- Alaris
- Floating: If yes, where?
- As needed (PreOp/PACU/Floor) - if floated out of peri-op services, will be as helping hands
- Will not be floated to Main OR as Primary RN
- Orientation: (facility and unit)
- 1 week
- Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation - If position is posted as weekend only and on call, every 3rd weekend
- Will they be on call? Yes - one overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend.
- Sleep room will be in Pre-Op/PACU area as it will be closed
- Couches in break room
- 15 min response time
- Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays
- Approval of time off? Reach out for Manager approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
