Job description
- POSITION PURPOSE
- Coordinates the Employee Health Service (EHS) by providing professional nursing to ill or injured employees, coordinating pre-placement physicals, health assessments and investing occupational injuries and frequent illnesses. Provides health counseling to employees and works in conjunction with the Infection Control Coordinator on employee infection control programs. Maintains confidentiality in all health related matters.
- MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Associate Degree: Nursing
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 3-5 years healthcare experience
- LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin and/or the State of Illinois based on job location assignment.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- The ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language.
- The physical, technical and cognitive ability as well as the manual dexterity, to use patient care equipment.
- PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provides nursing care and/or medical referrals to ill or injured employees.
- Maintains documents for all Employee Health related matters, Workers' Compensation, the OSHA log and Safety Committee.
- Coordinates the employee immunization program and respiratory protection program.
- Initiates and revises Employee Health Service policies and procedures in order to meet employee, employer and regulatory agency requirements.
- Acts as a representative for the Human Resources Department in regard to short-term disability, leaves of absence and participates in New Employee Orientation.
