Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN is responsible for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice. Important aspects of this responsibility are the promotion of a safe and therapeutic environment for both the recipients and providers of nursing care; acquisition of specialized knowledge skills and additional formal education to provide specialized care; demonstration and validation of competence in nursing practice; clinical practice consistent with the policies, procedures and standards of this facility; and supervision of other staff as designated within the department.

What qualifications you will need:

• Texas State RN license or compact license required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment state date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• TNCC and ENPC required within 19 months of hire.
• Advanced specialty certification (i.e. CEN) preferred.
• Associate Degree required but Bachelors Degree preferred.
  
• 1 year of prior emergency department RN experience preferred. 
• EMR Allscripts experience preferred.
