Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Weekend Option

Weekend Option RNs are paid at incentive pay rates as per the Weekend Option policy guidelines, available upon request. RNs must have a minimum of 2 years RN experience to be eligible to participate in this program. RNs without 2 years experience do not qualify for weekend option.
This position will be scheduled 24 hours per week in the Emergency department at the Christ Hospital main campus located at 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
Unit Description: Specializing in adult cardiac care and complex internal medicine, Christ Hospital's 42-bed emergency department includes some of the most experienced and trusted emergency care specialists in the area, including: board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and social workers. The department has a high acuity patient population and an all-RN nursing staff. It's a fast-paced environment and requires excellent critical thinking skills.
Job Overview: The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- The Christ Hospital Health Network does hire AD and Diploma nurses, however;
- All nurses hired after January 2010 must obtain their BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- A MSN or DNP are not required but supersede the requirement for the BSN.
Licenses and Certifications: Current RN license to practice in the State of Ohio. BLS required prior to patient contact. ACLS required prior to patient contact. PALS preferred.
