Job Summary
This position assists with the planning, evaluating of Hemodialysis services and provides nursing care for dialysis patients in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, licensure, and scope of practice. Delivers hemodialysis services to chronic outpatients and will provide treatment to inpatients and acute patients as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists with training of new staff members.
- Participates in department CQI program ensuring staff participation in the process and identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes, includes daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
- Operates and monitors water system.
- Completes annual competency skill testing.
- Receives, transcribes, and communicates physician orders.
- Observes and assesses patient, records significant conditions and reactions to drugs and treatments, and notifies supervisor.

Qualifications
Bachelors in nursing or Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in an approved accredited Registered Nurse Program. Minimum of one-year experience in a medical/surgical unit is preferred.
Holds or is eligible for current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of South Dakota and may be required to apply for a Minnesota RN license.
Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy.
