Unit Description:
The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is one of 54 cancer centers designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute. With 16 locations throughout Michigan and Ohio and proudly a part of McLaren Health Care, Karmanos is the largest provider of cancer care and research in Michigan.
The KICU unit has 11 beds.
The KICU nurse cares for oncology patients needing intensive care monitory for surgical, medical, or neurological complications, associated with the therapies used in treating oncology and the disease itself.
The KICU team uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health conditions.
Qualifications - External
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan.
