We are looking for a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health department of our organization. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing service, to meet the identified health care needs of a designated population of clients. The Registered Nurse works within the framework of AID’s goals, policies, and procedures to assure that accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, pertaining to health care, are met in all programs.
What will you be doing?
· Responsible for the provision of nursing service, to meet the identified health care needs of a designated population of clients
· Assess the health needs of clients
· Plan for the provision of needed health services
· Implement a plan of care, and evaluating outcomes and ongoing health needs in collaboration with the client and other members of the health care team, as needed
· Assist with coverage for psychiatric clinics as needed
What will you bring to the table?
· Must be a graduate of an accredited and approved nursing program
· Current, unrestricted Illinois Registered Nurse License in good standing with the State licensing board
· Current BLS certification
· A minimum of two years of previous nursing experience working with persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and/or neurological impairments is preferred
What are the other requirements?
- Must acquire and maintain certifications in CPR, Non-violent crisis intervention training, OIG- Rule 50, and attend other relevant trainings, as required.
- Position requires ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, or weekends and to assume 24 hours on call responsibility for assigned program.
- Use of employee personal automobile for local community travel between program sites. Drives self on agency business.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s license
- Minimum amount of automobile liability insurance required, as defined by AID’s personnel policies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required
