Registered Nurse Behavioral Health

PRIDE Health is looking to hire an RN to work with one of our clients in a clinic treating individuals with severe mental health and/or substance use concerns. Our client is open to Direct Hire or Contract placement for the role, depending on the candidate’s preference and relevant experience. The position has a Monday – Friday, 9a – 5p schedule with one Saturday per month, and one possible evening per week as needed to accommodate clients.

Role:Registered Nurse

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11238 (clinic setting)

Department: OP Clinic, Mental Health/Substance Abuse

Pay: $95,000 - $100,000 salary (hourly rate if placed on contract)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. One Saturday per month. One evening per week (as needed) to accommodate clients.

Duties:

·         Perform blood draws for clients in need of testing, document results, and discuss next steps with clients.

·         Prepare and evaluate plans of nursing intervention to ensure they are consistent with the client’s treatment plan; ensure plan considers client’s needs, beliefs, primary language, background, etc.

·         Develop nursing assessment to reflect holistic needs of each client with consideration of their psychological, physiological, social, ethnic, cultural, educational, and spiritual strengths and needs.

·         Oversee direct implementation of nursing care to ensure it is carried out in accordance with care/intervention plan, modify plan as needed if client’s needs or condition change.

·         Attend team meetings and provide nursing input on the development and implementation of treatment/service plans.

·         Coordinates nursing care activities with other professional disciplines to ensure nursing plan is consistent with and integrated with the total treatment plan.

·         Provide advice and consultation on nursing-related matters to supportive housing staff and administrators.

·         Educate clients and their families on addiction, treatment, services/resources, etc.

·         Conduct counseling sessions with direction by other qualified professionals as needed.

·         Participate in risk management and quality assurance relating to health issues.

·         Provide emergency care and crisis intervention as needed.

·         Distribute medications, observed and document effects and side effects reported by clients and observed by clinical staff.

Skills/Requirements:

·         2+ years of nursing experience in a similar setting highly preferred.

·         Experience working with clients with severe mental health issues/substance use concerns preferred.

·         Active NYS RN License & Registration.

·         National Provider ID Number (NPI number) required.

·         Malpractice Insurance.

·         Ability to provide crisis intervention utilizing good interpersonal skills.

·         Drawing blood for labs is required for RNs at this clinic.
