Job Summary:
The RN will be responsible for care of a pediatric patient in the child's home. This position will provide nursing services according to a plan of care and within the scope of practice for the nurse. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience with medically complex pediatric patients, great interpersonal skills, and a commitment to quality patient centered care.
Responsibilities:
Provides quality care that is dependent on physician order or through independent nursing interventions based on professional judgment in response to individualized patient needs.
Adheres to scope of RN practice as outlined by the MS Board of Nursing, regulatory standards and company policy.
Keeps protected health information secure and confidential.
Establishes a safe, compassionate, caring environment for patients and their family.
Demonstrates reliable attendance, reports on time and is ready to work at the beginning of the scheduled shift.
Promotes engagement by considering specific needs, values and preferences.
Establishes care goals, teaches the patient and/or family about health conditions, and medications.
Demonstrates competency in performance of clinical skills.
Adheres to safe medication administration while preparing, administering, documenting and monitoring meds.
Recognizes safety risk and implements prevention plans for falls, skin breakdown and injury.
Accurately and completely documents assessments and nursing care in the patient’s medical record.
Demonstrate infection prevention behaviors, consistent hand hygiene, and use of appropriate PPE.
