MUST:
Experienced Registered Nurse Manager ASC
3+ years of experience as a Nurse Manager
3+ years of experience working in an Ambulatory Surgery Center
3+ years of supervisory/management experience
2+ years of experience Gastroenterology - GI Endoscopy
2+ years of experience working in a surgery center
Must be able to work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy
Must be able to work collaboratively with governing board, administrator, and physicians
Must be able work under stress
Working knowledge of ASC survey protocols
Possess excellent oral, written, listening and communication skills
Possess excellent organization skills, with attention to details
Displays computer literacy
Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Maryland
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current CPR certifications BLS, ACLS preferred
Bachelors degree in a health-related field
DUTIES:
Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of patient care.
Deliver direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
Develop and maintain goals and objectives, standards of practice, policy and procedure manual, and written job descriptions for clinical personnel.
Assess the needs for nursing care based on the schedule.
Determine needs of staff; develop/adjust time schedules and ensure appropriate assignments in accordance with staff abilities, patient needs and scheduling needs.
Define nursing care needs in complex situations and identify nursing interventions to meet those needs.
Develop a staffing pattern that provides quality nursing care commensurate with those needs.
Supervise nursing and ancillary staff.
Provide for staff development and in-service education.
Assist with planning, implementing, and maintaining the quality assurance program.
Develop, revise, and implement endoscopy policies and procedures.
Maintain records, reports, and logs to meet accrediting requirements.
Assume responsibility and initiative for problem solving and decision making with staff and appropriate others.
Schedule daily staffing, vacations, and seminars.
Interpret job descriptions and clarify staff responsibility.
Conduct performance appraisals for clinical staff, giving input regarding salary raises and cash bonuses.
Delegate authority as appropriate to qualified staff members.
Manage infection control program.
Oversee fire/safety program.
Ensure CPR certification and current licensure for appropriate staff.
Assist in the process to advertise, interview, hire, discipline, and terminate clinical employees as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
