Job Summary: Under the supervision of the department director provides quality care to patients needing cardiovascular studies. Ensures correct procedure is being performed on the patient. Properly identifies order with patient. Report all occurrence regarding sonographic procedures to the physician. Provides care appropriate for patients based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interprets data on patients' status to identify patients requirements relative to their age specific needs and provides care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain records of patient visit and statistics. Assures proper documentation of procedures to support accurate billing.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required minimum education: Completion of an accredited program for medical ultrasound technology or recognized ultrasound technology school preferred.
Required minimum experience: One-year clinical experience preferred
Required skills (if applicable): Performs Echocardiography ultrasound, Stress Echo and TEE testing on patients. Has a working knowledge of EKG rhythms. Operates and maintains equipment. Prepares necessary reports and maintains records. Establishes policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of ultrasonic services.
Required license/certification: Registered with CCI or ARDMS, current CPR and ACLS (ACLS within 90 days of employment)
