Job Highlights:
Registered dietitians at UAB Medicine perform nutrition assessments and reassessments; determine medical nutrition therapy goals and desired outcomes; develop and implement nutrition care plans and interventions; provide nutrition education; and record timely and appropriate documentation in the medical record. Our RDs precept for the UAB Dietetic Internship Program and the Samford University Dietetic Internship Program. RDs participate in quality improvement activities, medical team activities, and rounds. They serve as a nutrition resource person for other health personnel, and assist in the development, implementation, and revision of nutrition education materials.

Job Description:
To perform nutrition assessments and reassessments, determine medical nutrition therapy goals and desired outcomes, develop and implement nutrition care plans And Nutrition interventions, provide nutrition education, and record timely and appropriate documentation in the medical record. To precept for the UAB Dietetic Internship Program, participate in quality improvement activities, and participate in medical team activities and rounds as assigned or as schedule allows.
Bachelor's degree in Medical Dietetics or related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. If licensed prior to 12/31/2023 a Bachelor s degree in human nutrition, Food And Nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management required. If licensed after 01/01/2024 a Master s degree in human nutrition, Food And Nutrition, dietetics, or nutrition education required. Currently licensed (active or temporary) as a Dietitian with the State of Aabama Board of Examiners for Dietetic/Nutrition Practice required.
