Job description

Under the direction of the Correctional Health Services Administrator II, develops and implements nutrition care plans for inmate patients. Provides technical assistance to Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) staff regarding meal planning and service; reviews clinical records, interviews staff and inmate, completes assessment and follows through with recommendations; provides counseling; participates in the interdisciplinary process; and acts as a liaison between Healthcare and nutrition staff, ensures continuity of care; provides In-Service Training to all staff; writes menus and authorizes substitution or modification of special diets; ensures smooth operation of the CTC kitchen.

minimum qualifications:
Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. (Applicants with proof of eligibility to apply for registration will be admitted to the examination but must become registered to be eligible for appointment).

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
