Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Dietician to join our team in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving the health and well-being of individuals through proper nutrition and dietary guidance. Experience with geriatric populations is a significant advantage for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nutritional Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' dietary needs, taking into account their medical history, current health status, and dietary preferences.
- Dietary Planning: Develop and implement personalized dietary plans for patients, considering their specific health goals and dietary restrictions.
- Education and Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling and education to patients and their families, explaining the importance of proper nutrition and dietary changes.
- Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting dietary plans as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, dietary plans, and progress notes in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to coordinate care and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Geriatric Expertise: Utilize your experience with geriatric populations to address the unique nutritional needs and challenges faced by elderly patients.
- Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest developments in nutrition science and dietary guidelines to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Compliance: Ensure that all dietary recommendations and interventions adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietician (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- State licensure as a dietitian/nutritionist in California.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
- Previous experience working with geriatric populations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software and electronic health record systems.
