Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, and applying fluoride treatments
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking and recording medical histories and vital signs
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using Dentrix or other dental software systems
- Take and develop dental x-rays or other medical imaging as needed
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health principles
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental software systems for scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical terminology and dental procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment
