Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of construction designs, ensuring adherence to relevant building codes and regulations.
- Utilize AutoCAD for the mark-up, review, and approval of designs. Knowledge of Architectural Desktop, REVIT, and rendering techniques is advantageous.
- Facilitate the coordination and approval process with building departments and Third-Party entities for prefabricated constructions.
- Adapt site-built designs into modular building layouts utilizing pre-approved design packages.
- Design and detail building components such as roofs, walls, flashings, windows, and doors, with a focus on high wind zone requirements.
- Oversee basic elements of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, including the authorization and approval of these components.
- Conduct energy analysis and optimization using tools like Enercalc and/or ComCheck.
- Perform life safety analysis and design, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Engage in projects requiring military high-security specifications, including SCIF, Tempest, and hardened structures. Background checks will be mandated for these assignments.
- Maintain robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit a dependable work ethic, balancing professional responsibilities with personal well-being.
- Contribute positively to team dynamics, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and a good sense of humor.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Registered Architect (RA).
- Active registration as a Licensed Registered Architect, with a preference for candidates registered in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and Texas. NCARB accreditation for reciprocity is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with an emphasis on non-production drafting tasks. Experience with Architectural Desktop, REVIT, and rendering is beneficial.
- Demonstrated capability in the design and detailing of components suitable for high wind zones.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems sufficient for signing and sealing building design elements.
- Experience with energy and life safety analysis and design methodologies.
- Background in or willingness to engage with military high-security projects, subject to a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Architecture (professional 5-year degree), Architectural Engineering, or a Master of Architecture with a preceding 4-year undergraduate degree. Equivalent work experience with registration may also be considered.
- Experience with prefabricated and modular building design and approval processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a healthy sense of humor and a strong work/live balance ethic.
