Job description

Keller is now hiring for a Regional Operations Manager to join the team at our Covington location! Located at 4101 Winston Ave., Covington, KY 41015. If you're looking for long-term employment with a company you can grow with, this is the position for you!

This ideal candidate would have extensive packaging and manufacturing experience as well as experience with employee development and customer-facing skills. Start-up and implementation of operations and projects are a plus.

Must pass a drug screen and a criminal background check prior to employment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage personnel, includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Build, develop, and maintain customer relationships. Participate in contract development and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for each warehousing location. The SOP’s will cover every aspect of the warehouse from using handhelds to operating a tow motor in a Keller safe manner.
  • Develop/design productivity metrics and departmental goals. Regularly monitor progress to identify trends in activity and labor. Recommend, implement, and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement project efforts with team and other departments to increase efficiency (cost, quality, safety) in operations.
  • For food grade warehouses, lead a food safety culture. Audit and maintain food safety within a facility.
  • Drive the development of new training and/or re-training programs and ensure compliance across all warehouse operations.
  • Work daily with all Keller Warehouse locations to resolve any operational/customer issues.
  • Lead Warehouse In A Box (WIAB) for all warehouse and packaging startups and closings, coordinating with all departments and vendors.
  • Oversee the financial success of the operations. Includes equipment quoting, labor management, invoice approval, follow up on disputes, tracking of all revenue/expenses to ensure profitability with monthly income statement reviews.
  • Perform semi-annual warehouse audits with each location and ensure adherence to all OSHA, customer and company standards are maintained, includes periodic inventory audits and reconciliation of issues.
  • Warehouse and Operations Manager onboarding and continual professional development. Ensure all training requirements are met throughout the organization.
  • Proactively study operations and utilize the Corrective Action process to minimize risk of errors or safety incidents.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of packaging and manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations (pallet in pallet out, pick and pack, material fulfillment, inventory management, Warehouse Management Systems and RF Equipment)
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with leadership, subordinates, peers and other associates both orally and in writing.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment, Microsoft Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Must be adept at gathering information from various sources with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvements.

Additional Qualifications and Experience:

  • Packaging and Manufacturing.
  • 5 years 3PL Warehouse Management Experience.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed to monitor operations.
  • Must have experience operating forklifts and the ability to obtain Trainer certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
