Job Title: Regional Operations Manager

Department: Field Operations

Location: Northeast US; preferably Greater Philadelphia Area

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Senior Regional Director

Target Pay Range: $60-70k

Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Regional Operations Manager position in the Northeastern US, preferably in the Philadelphia area.

The primary responsibility of the Regional Operations Manager is to manage and develop assigned personnel to plan, execute, and close out programs and community events supporting operations within a designated multi-state area, as part of Operation Homefront Region 3; oversees programming throughout entire multi-state region, plans, secures funding, coordinates, organizes, and oversees program implementation and evaluation, assesses the needs of the local community and develops the programs to meet those needs, assists the region with donor relationships and local partnerships for monetary and in-kind donations, coordinates localized outreach efforts to military families and units and manages volunteer engagement for the region.

Desired candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field desired
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • 3 years of experience in nonprofit event coordination and with social service programs preferred
  • Experience with military families and programs preferred
  • Experience with cultivating donors, researching grant possibilities and application process highly desired
  • 3 years volunteer supervision experience preferred
  • Experience with program delivery from start to finish
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at once in different geographic locations critical
  • Experience with outreach to different community groups, corporations and local organizations for event program support desired
  • Supervisory, accounting and budgeting experience desired
  • Ability to juggle frequent communication with different departments, community partners, volunteers and event registrants desired
  • Ability to adapt and react quickly to changes

Primary Job Duties Include:

  • Plans, executes, and closes out all program and community activities within assigned area of responsibility, benefitting military family support services in the community; supports and leads all assigned personnel in their program delivery.
  • Assists regional fundraising/development team as required, identifying, cultivating, and stewarding potential and existing donors; Researches funding opportunities, compiles donor information, and assists with grant writing and applications to gain sponsorship and donations, in coordination with the Senior Regional Director and Regional Development Manager.
  • Supervises all assigned personnel, to include volunteers; manages development and performance reviews for staff.
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping for all programs and events, as well as inventory and in-kind donations, in accordance with Operation Homefront’s Standard Operating Procedures and related manuals/guides.
  • Organizes and maintains volunteer program; coordinates local volunteer assignments, recruitment, training, support/supervision, and retention, and builds opportunities for volunteer leadership positions.
  • Develops and grows community relationships with clients, service providers, volunteers, community partners, military organizations or representatives, and all posts, armories, and bases in the area.
  • Submits monthly content for state newsletters in the region, as well as internal OH communications; submits social media content related to local events and partnerships to digital engagement team; coordinates local media relations/outreach with integrated marketing department.
  • Provides regular progress reports to Senior Regional Director as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Details:

General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events as needed. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
