Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist provides administrative support to the human resource function including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. The Human Resources Specialist is the primary point of contact for and provides critical support to candidates, hiring managers, and internal HR representatives to provide an exceptional onboarding experience for newly hired employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring timely execution and completion of a seamless workflow for each new employee.
- Welcomes newly hired employees and executes the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey; manages the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.
- Supports the development of clear policies and employee handbooks that explain company operations.
- Serves as subject matter expert for the HRIS system (Paycor).
- Identifies innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees/reach a more scalable and measurable onboarding experience for implementation across franchises.
- Collaborates with local HR representatives to identify and draft detailed and accurate job postings and hiring criteria.
- Stays educated on company benefits and incentives to properly communicate with potential candidates and employees.
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or HR representative during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Coordinate background screenings, drug screenings, and new hire accounts set up once an offer has been accepted by a candidate.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least three years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This is a largely sedentary role in an office environment, so prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time position, working 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, minimum of 40 hours per week. This position may require longer hours and some flexibility in hours may be needed dependent upon the business needs.
