Regional HR Generalist- Midwest

Summary

** This position shall be based out of Northfield OH, Northbrook IL, or Southfield MI.**

The Regional Sila HR Generalist will successfully partner with team members and managers across all their designated regions and locations to deliver excellence in Human Resources with emphasis on Benefits Administration including disability management and FMLA. Benefits Administration will include benefits support, overseeing and administering the employee benefits program, maintaining employee and carrier benefit data in our systems, Benefits communications, and Benefits Enrollment.

Employee Relations including investigation expertise is an important component in the success of this role and experience should include ability to provide guidance to team members and managers on the interpretation and application of Sila organizational policies and procedures providing direction in an unbiased and consistent manner while operating within appropriate Federal, State and Local employment laws.

Experience with Performance Management, Compensation, Recruiting, Compliance, Engagement, and the ability to work in collaboration and as part of a team with Learning & Development will solidify the success of this position and the continued growth of the Sila HR Department.

Sila’s HR Team is very collaborative and may be called upon for situational advice in other regions, likewise the Regional Generalists have specific territories, in the case of a vacancy for PTO coverage or other, will be expected to fill the void as necessary.

HR Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include anti-harassment and performance management training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Leads the administrative integration activities for all new acquisitions in the assigned region. This includes the on-boarding of team members, all compliance paperwork and on-going support of team members.
  • Coordinates interviews of qualified job applicants for open positions for the region’s hiring managers; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Ensures compliance and completion of background checks and employee eligibility verifications. analyzing completed background checks with criminal and driving records to ensure candidate is on par with Sila standards and completing adverse action paperwork for un-hirable candidates
  • Conducts new hire orientation as part of a rotation and team member recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least two years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel/visit regions to assimilate acquisitions and support existing team members as needed <20% most likely day trips by car assuming candidate is located in region.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
