Pay Range: $25.20-$37.25 per hour
Basic Job Function and Responsibilities
Assembles both invasive and non-invasive ventilator equipment; prepares patient and equipment for therapy; evaluates therapy based upon patient response and laboratory results; modifies equipment settings as necessary.
Assists with the orientation of new employees.
Assures proper precautions while providing therapy and/or performing tests; makes oxygen rounds and titrates oxygen per protocol, checks medical orders; takes relevant patient history; checks patient's vital signs.
Formulates individual care plans, continually assesses and interprets data in order to evaluate therapy/consultations.
Establishes appropriate goals for ordered therapy or consult with the physician to modify goals or therapy.
Recommends appropriate therapy.
Maintains certifications and CEU requirements. Completes and passes skill proficiency testing annually.
Supervision Received
Direct supervision is received from the Respiratory Care Manager.
Supervision Exercised
Functional supervision of registry-eligible therapists, respiratory technicians, and students. May function as charge person.
Qualifications
Associate degree or bachelor's Degree in respiratory therapy, required.
Certification(s), Licensure(s) & Registration(s)
Credentialled as an RRT by the NBRC prior to the start of employment
State Licensure, required.
BLS and ACLS with in 6 months of hire.
