The Client Services Regional Coordinator, Family Solutions Center TLS-SPA 8Homeless Families, plays a vital role in bridging the gaps in services provided through the Los Angeles Regional Coordinated Entry System. They offer supportive services to families with children experiencing homelessness, focusing particularly on individuals who require intensive case management to navigate the homeless system.
Responsibilities:
- Offering intensive case management to Homeless Families facing challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, mental health issues, substance abuse, financial difficulties, social support concerns, HIV/AIDS, etc.
- Managing an assigned caseload of 20 to 30.
- Screening homeless individuals, families for services.
- Helping Homeless Families establish an Housing and Services Plan (HSP) that suits their needs.
- Keeping all client records updated and recording case notes for all interactions.
- Conducting follow-up activities to help clients implement and complete their HSP.
- Assisting clients in connecting with Crisis Housing, Housing Navigation, Time-Limited Subsidies, Eviction Prevention, and CoC-Supportive Housing Programs, as well as other community agencies and programs.
- Completing Section 8 paperwork.
- Supporting the Community Center services, as the work environment is fast-paced.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three to five years of related experience.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Comfortable working with multicultural ethnic groups like African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics.
- Possess knowledge and experience in working with homeless individuals and be familiar with the McKinney-Vento Act.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication, computer skills—specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Clarity, and HMIS.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- comfortable working with clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses and have knowledge of Problem Solving techniques.
