Refinery Operator

EcoLube Recovery is looking for a Refinery Operator to join their team in Portland, Oregon! This person will work with other Operators to monitor, regulate, troubleshoot and safely operate complex process equipment used to re-refine used oil into base oils for use in new motor oils, hydraulic systems, and more!

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the operation of the plant through the HMI (Human Machine Interface).

• Assists in loading and unloading of products and raw materials.

• Fills out and completes daily paperwork.

• Cleans and inspects system equipment.

• Develops a basic working knowledge of a variety of equipment.

• Participates in plant maintenance, such as performing preventative maintenance, performing needed repairs, diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.

• Completes general daily housekeeping.

• Wears personal protective equipment to keep themselves safe!

• Promotes safety through own actions and work habits.

• Other tasks as assigned.

What do you need?

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• 18+ years old

• 1+ years of Production/Manufacturing experience preferred

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Basic operating knowledge of computers, including basic Office suite

• Basic math skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English

• Ability to understand instructions given verbally or in writing in English

• Previous experience working in a refinery is beneficial

What are the physical requirements (with or without accommodation)?

• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools and equipment

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights over 30 ft

• Ability to lift 40+ pounds, carry 10-20 pounds, push/pull up to 250 pounds with mechanical assistance.
