Under general supervision, processes Refill Authorization and prior authorization requests in a centralized location for all Primary Care providers. Refill Authorization Representatives are a vital communication hub between patients, providers and pharmacies providing outstanding customer service.
If you are located in Everett or Seattle, WA and soundings areas, you will have the flexibility to work remotely *, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicates patient requests/concerns to physician or registered nurse verbally and in writing. Under general supervision, processes Refill Authorization and prior authorization requests in a centralized location for all Primary Care providers. Refill Authorization Representatives are a vital communication hub between patients, providers and pharmacies providing outstanding customer service
- Prepares refill and prior authorization requests for review by the provider as directed by department protocols
- Schedules appointments if necessary
- Arranges lab tests prescribed by physician or registered nurse
- Enters/gathers patient information in the EHR to process refill and prior authorization requests
- Fosters positive interpersonal relationships with fellow employees, physicians and patients
- Documents pertinent information in the EHR
- Communicates with patients via email, mail or phone as directed by department protocols

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Completion of a pharmacy technician certification program or Medical Assistant program approved by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy/Health
- Have and maintain an active pharmacy technician license in the state of Washington OR Active Interim or Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) through the Washington State Department of Health
- 2+ years of experience in health care, including understanding of health plan related operations
- 1+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician or medical assistant
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working as a pharmacy technician or medical assistant
- Experience in a call center environment and/or customer service oriented role

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for Washington residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour.
