Position Overview:
The Referral Specialist helps connect families and doctors to the appropriate therapist and discipline. This position performs clerical and administrative work such as communicating with doctors offices and other referral sources, data processing, facilitating scheduling patients for evaluations, and providing excellent customer service.
Essential Functions:
- Send/receive physician order forms and schedule the evaluation with the family
- Manage the In-House referrals and call to schedule evaluations for those patients/families
- Create accounts/charts for new patients in Fusion when scheduling for their location
- Verify insurance for all new patients at that location by phone or online portals
- Send out New Evaluation emails to front office and therapists to alert them of new appointments
- Send New Evaluation emails to parents, along with intake paperwork link
- Update the Referral/Evaluation Report with each new referral
- Work closely with therapists to optimize schedules
- Send daily & weekly referral reports for the practice
- Weekly meetings with Intake Coordinator
- Serve as back-up to Front Office Administrators
- Share office opening and closing responsibilities as needed
- Other projects as assigned
