Job Description:
POSITION: Part-Time Reference Librarian:Reference Librarian; Library Services; Lawrence Campus (45 Franklin Street); MCCC/MTA Unit PT Professional Position; up to 16 hours/week
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing high quality research assistance to students and faculty in active virtual and in-person academic environments.
SCHEDULE: Current Schedule is Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 8pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with students and faculty using text, chat, email, and other technologies, in addition to face to face, regarding library reference services
- Meeting student information literacy and academic technology needs
- Conducting library instruction sessions
- Provide access services support using Koha ILS
- Assist in the operation of a student computer lab

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
- Master's degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, or closely related field; with three (3) years experience and/or training that includes library operations, library information systems, reference services, bibliographic instruction, circulation services, and cataloging; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency with instruction on research and information sources.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Recent work experience in a library setting.
- Ability to work independently and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population
BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.

SALARY: $32.00/hour, Non-benefited position
