SalaryStatement of Duties: The Reference Librarian will provide reference services to the University community and participate in the library's Instruction and Information Literacy program.
Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Reference/Research Help
Provide in-person, email, online chat, phone, and appointment based reference services to University students, faculty, staff, and public patrons, including one-to-one reference assistance, technological assistance, and statistical tracking.
Special Projects
- Assist liaison librarians with collection development.
- Participate in the development of digital collections supporting the Archives under the supervision of the Archivist.
- Assist instruction librarians in the development, creation, and management of digital course materials, research guides, and other curriculum content.
- Potential opportunity to participate in the instruction program, providing instruction or research sessions for general library and information literacy skills.
- Other related projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited program or within 2 courses of completing an MLS.
Preferred Requirements: Experience providing in-person and virtual reference service, including a broad knowledge of both print and online information sources in an academic library.
Must be able to pass a CORI/SORI check.
Additional Information:
This is a part time non-benefited position at $25/hour.
Fall/Spring Semester hours:
Monday 3:00-6:00pm
Wednesday 3:00-6:00pm
Additional Fall/Spring Semester shifts may be available and may include an occasional Sunday shift. Spring 2024 semester ends on May 14th. Fall 2024 semester begins on September 5th.
Summer Semester:
Limited hours may be available during intersessions (time between semesters) and Summer Semesters, but are currently not scheduled.
