About the Role
CrowdStrike’s Malware Research Center (MRC) is at the core of Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. As an MRC team member, you'll analyze the threat landscape and drive improvements to our machine learning and behavioral protection capabilities. Where there is a gap, MRC takes action to improve our detection stance and protection story. There are many parts of CrowdStrike working towards protecting customer environments and MRC works across all of them to ensure we are on target and providing the best protection for the current threat landscape. Help us stop breaches with your expertise.
The Red Team Intern will work on MRC’s Adversarial Emulation team, dedicated to simulating threat actor activities, researching new techniques, and evaluating and improving CrowdStrike’s products. We are a team of offensive security experts that constantly raise the bar to ensure CrowdStrike is ahead of adversaries. You will assist in planning and executing assessments to measure and improve product effectiveness. You will work with a diverse, global, team and support experienced team members.
This internship is fully remote and requires no travel. Your work location is the city/town/province you will be working from remotely. For our 12-week internship program, interns are allowed to work remotely from an alternative location for up to 2 weeks. Interns are also invited to work out of the CrowdStrike office located closest to their remote location.
What You'll Do
Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of adversarial simulations, threat & technique research, product measurement, reporting, and metrics.
Report results, including mitigation strategies, for both management and technical audiences.
Assist in developing and improving product efficacy.
What You'll Need
A passion for using your offensive security skills to stop breaches.
A rising junior, senior, or graduate-level computer science or cybersecurity student, graduating between December 2024 - August 2025
Experience with security assessment frameworks and tools (Examples: Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike, Empire, Mimikatz, etc.) is preferred.
Understanding of security methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
Windows / Linux / Mac operating system experience (Cloud is a bonus).
Experience in automation and scripting of applications and systems is preferred.
Experience in one or more high-level programming languages (C++, Rust, .Net, Go, Python, Java, etc.) is preferred.
