WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The B&G Mechanic will be responsible to carry out tasks in support of plant maintenance. Duties involve pipe fitting, plumbing, insulating, welding, carpentry, installing aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floor, toilets, urinals, fence, electric gates, roll up doors, loading dock ramps, and all other aspects of building maintenance.

• Repair/reassemble or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tool, and resemble equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that; machines continue to run smoothly, buildings systems
• operate efficiently, and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions
• Inspect, test, and operate machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Clean and lubricate shaft, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Install new equipment when necessary
• Plumbing repair when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid California Driver License and clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Must be able to read and understand standard operating procedures and parts manuals
• Able to work with minimal supervisor
• Have good attention to detail and be dependable

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two to three years of experience in related industry
• Bilingual Spanish/English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work will be conducted in office, shop and farm areas
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended period of time
• Environmental exposure-seasonal outdoor temperatures

Hours & Workdays:

1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM); when business requires, overtime and weekends may be mandatory.
