Recycle Collector/Sorter

SUMMARY: Come be a part of our Recycle Team! You will receive training while working as part of a Recycling team sorting recycled commodities to support Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB) and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) or Kennedy Space Center (KSC). This position requires individuals to be outdoors during the winter and summer months.

Individuals will be responsible for collecting and/or sorting through recyclables including trash and debris for recyclable materials and separating these items into established categories such as aluminum or other metals, plastic, glass, cardboard, and different levels of paper.

Individuals will be provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform their job responsibilities. PPE’s will include at a minimum, items such as protective covering for hands (gloves), eyes (safety glasses). Other PPE devices will be issued as necessary based on the work.

Individuals are responsible for providing their own steel toed protective footwear.

Individual will report to a Crew Leader and/or MRF Supervisor to maintain professional program environments.

Individuals will be required to help with keeping equipment, work areas, and vehicles clean and safe.

Performs other work as required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be eligible for Source America employment (e.g. must provide documentation of disability to ensure eligibility).
• Must comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Must complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9, and present documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility.
• Must comply with the agency’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
• Must possess and carry a valid Florida Identification Card or a Florida Driver License.
• Must provide and wear non-skid steel toe work shoes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to routinely lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to physically function on a 6-8 hour workday.
• Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, stretch, pull and stand for long periods of times and climb stairs.
• Must be able to work under climate conditions that includes an environment which is subject to being excessively hot, cold, wet, windy, dusty, greasy, smoke filled and occasionally bothered by insects such as mosquitoes, bees and flies.

HOURS: MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 6:30AM-2PM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.37 per hour
